Introduction

It is difficult to imagine solvents more versatile then the Glycol Ethers. They find virtually limitless applications as resin solvents in surface coatings and inks; ingredients in hydraulic brake fluids; dye solvents in textile and leather applications; as coupling solvents in a variety of chemical specialities: and as intermediates in the production of plasticizers of improved solubility characteristics.

Lafsolve and Lafftol Glycol Ethers are colourless liquids, with mild pleasant odours. Due to the presence of an alcohol and an ether group in these products they make excellent solvents unmatched by other products. They virtually find limitless applications as solvents. They are completely soluble in acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ethyl ether and methanol.

Application:

Laffsolves and Lafftols are being used in quantity as solvents for dye-stuffs, oils, greases, waxes and resins in the manufacturer of lacquers, polishes, printing inks, paints etc.

Used as thinners for sprayed industrial finishes.
Used as lowering the viscosity of alkyl paints in architectural.
Used as ingredient in hydraulic brake fluid formulations.
Used as coupling agents.
Used for preparing solutions and pastes of dyestuffs, pigment emulsion for textile dyeing and printing.

There are wide varieties of uses of Laffsolve and Lafftol Glycol Ethers in the formulation of chemical specialties such as glass cleaners, waterless hand cleaners, paint removers, liquid soaps etc.
